Back in 2012 I made a New Year’s Resolution to try three new recipes a week and to write about them on a blog. I created the blog Blessed*Happy*Healthy*Prosperous and faithfully chronicled my cooking and baking exploits until March, at which point the blog shifted gears into a travel blog while I studied abroad for 2 1/2 months in Florence, Italy. When I returned home, the enjoyment I had previously felt writing the blog waned because I felt that anything I could write from home would pale in comparison to my experiences in Italy (probably true). Though I attempted to write off and on both in that blog and a few others, I never really felt the spark again.
Fast forward to 2016. I graduated college last year with a degree in English Literature and there has been a gaping hole in my life, which is that I have had no writing assignments in months. On the one hand this has been a relief, but on the other, I love to write. I find it easier to write when I have an assignment, however, so it’s been difficult for me to find the motivation to get started. Enter this blog. I asked myself what I loved most in the world (besides my dog) and I realized that I am passionate about food and travel. I am fortunate enough to be able to enjoy the former fairly often, the latter rarely (insert sad face).
The main focus of this blog, then, is the city in which I have spent the last decade or so: Bellingham, Washington. However, whenever I get the opportunity to travel, whether it be to Seattle or Boise or (please, please, please) Paris or Peru, the focus of the blog will shift territories with me. There will be a lot of food, of both the amateur and professional variety interspersed throughout.
So wish me bon voyage/appetit & I hope you enjoy. xo
